Whilst Chemeca is focused on chemical engineering many of the industry sessions will address a broad range of climate change topics that affect us all including the transition to a low carbon economy, the circular economy, advancements in bioenergy and biofuels, green manufacturing, hydrogen, advanced and disruptive technologies, and the engineering jobs of tomorrow.
In particular there is one session dedicated to Biofuels which may be of interest: Plenary Session 5 Bioenergy
Exploring the latest advancements in bioenergy. Bringing together two leading international biofuels companies, Gevo and LanzaTech, this session will spotlight the latest developments and the processes involved in converting their differing feedstocks to biofuels and the challenges for chemical engineers in making this
commercially viable.
• Dr Jennifer Holmgren, CEO, LanzaTech (US) Bending the Carbon Curve while Creating a new Circular Carbon Economy
• Dr Patrick Gruber, CEO, Gevo (US)
Notably Chemeca will be fully virtual and as such attendees have the flexibility to select which sessions they would like to register for, whether that just be a specific plenary or keynote session, the full conference or a single day. Registration for individual sessions starts at $25. All presentations will be recorded. Tune in live on the 27th and 28th or watch on demand when it suits you. You can access registration information and book here.

The program highlights the speakers presenting, many of whom are influential engineering leaders in industry , which we are sure you wouldn’t have access to outside a conference format. The program includes Andrew Liveris, former CEO & Chairman of Dow Chemical Company who will be presenting an informative plenary session sharing his vision for the future of process and manufacturing industries.
The sessions presented at Chemeca will:
• Be thought provoking in getting you to think about key strategic issues in your profession
• Discuss the latest on emerging technologies and solutions in area like transition to a low carbon economy and reinventing manufacturing
• Implications for the process industries
• How engineers can respond to climate change
• Enhance your personal and professional development with up to 25 hours of CPD available
To make a difference you need to participate, understand the issues and potential ways engineers can implement solutions.
