EnergyLab Panel Discussion: Trends in Energy Storage & Smart Grids

The energy grid is a colossal system spanning thousands of kilometres. But despite its behemoth nature, the grid has a delicate side. As it stands, unlike grain, or even diamonds, the supply and demand of energy in the grid must perfectly balance at any given moment. This is slowing clean energy penetration, as most sources fluctuate in their power generation. The grid however, has a trick up its sleeve, for as it evolves to be smarter it has the potential to integrate storage resources and even control demand at a granular level. In this event, brought to you by EnergyLab, we’ll explore how an intelligent grid can open the floodgates to clean energy uptake.
