Monash Business School is proud to collaborate with the Monash Energy Materials and Systems Institute (MEMSI) in delivering this Masterclass.
Inter-disciplinary and evidence-based research on biofuels combines the latest in engineering technology, benchmark European Union laws and Australian tax policy.
The presenters overview the results of their inter-disciplinary research that addresses a holistic range of biofuel issues. It covers scientific and technology breakthroughs from non-food feedstocks and barriers to scaled production of biofuels in Australia. Environmental aspects are key considerations.
Lessons are drawn from the European Union, where biofuels have been an important part of the fuel mix and sustainability concerns for nearly two decades. The current politics of energy in Australia suggest that the likelihood of transitioning to a targeted tax policy for biofuels and associated legislation is fraught with uncertainty with changes to the R&D concession and differences between national and state biofuel mandates.
Please join our esteemed Monash panel as they explore the need to re-think biofuels in Australia.
