On 15 November 2019, Life Sciences Queensland Limited (LSQ) will hold The Asia-Pacific Bioeconomy Policy Summit at the State Library of Queensland.
The Summit will provide an excellent platform to ensure that the bioeconomy is recognised as a key opportunity and influence on economic and social development. It will bring together key international industry stakeholders including fuel and energy companies, agricultural companies, investors and funding agencies, bioenergy researchers, program directors, and policy makers, among others, to explore the bioeconomy across a world class program.
The morning sessions will seek to demonstrate both the similarities and differences between political goals, approaches and priorities for bioeconomy development around the world. Through these discussions we seek to explore opportunities for reciprocated learning and potential future collaborations.
Generally national strategies are more closely related to bioeconomy policymaking, while regional strategies may be developed by bioeconomy clusters and tend to be shaped by several factors and networks in a specific region, often in less formal ways. The afternoon sessions will explore bioeconomy strategies at the regional level in Australia and look at various cases of regional bioeconomy clusters across the world.
