The global aviation and shipping sectors have set significant emission reduction targets to achieve by 2050 but how are they going to achieve them?
With sustainable bio based fuels seen as a vital contributor to decarbonisation this presents an opportunity for the development of a new industry in Australia.
Hear from global experts, industry leaders, airlines, fuel producers and investors on how a local industry would create jobs, enhance fuel security, reduce emissions and build stronger regional economies.
The Bio Based Aviation and Marine Fuels Summit is an event created in partnership between Bioenergy Australia, QLD Government, Life Sciences Qld and Gladstone Regional Council.
In addition to the summit, a site tour to the Northern Oil facility will take place. This is a seperate ticket and seats are limited.

Northern Oil Refinery at Yarwun, near Gladstone, is the only facility in Queensland capable of recycling waste lube oil back in to base lube oil and is the most advanced re-refining plant of its kind in the world. It can re-refine up to 100 million litres of waste lube oil per year, meaning a 100 per cent of Queensland's annual waste lube oil production can be processed through Gladstone, underwriting a new industry and local jobs.
These environmental and economic credentials earned the re-refinery the Innovation in Sustainable Technologies award at the 2015 Queensland Premier's Sustainability Awards.
