Energy Security Target and Safeguard

The NSW Government is seeking your comments on the new Energy Security Target and Safeguard, announced as part of the NSW Electricity Strategy. The NSW Government has released a public consultation paper, ‘Energy Security Target and Safeguard’ and the draft ‘Energy Savings Scheme Statutory Review Report 2020’.
‘The energy efficiency opportunity list’ is referenced in Appendix B of the consultation paper. ‘Energy Security Safeguard Scenario Projections’ is Appendix C to the consultation paper.
The NSW Government invites submissions from all interested parties on the design of the Target and Safeguard (including reform options for the ESS) and the draft ESS Statutory Review Report.
You can make a submission by completing the surveys below containing the consultation questions. You can skip questions you do not wish to answer.

You can also email your submissions to energysecurity@environment.nsw.gov.au. Identify your submissions as follows:
- For the Statutory Review use the subject ‘Your Name – ESS Review 2020’.
- For the Energy Security Target and Safeguard consultation paper use the subject ‘Your Name – Energy Security Target and Safeguard 2020’.
Closing dates for submissions
The closing date for submissions on the draft ESS Statutory Review Report is 5pm Wednesday, 20 May 2020. The final Statutory Review Report is due to be tabled in Parliament by 30 June 2020.
The closing date for submissions on the Energy Security Target and Safeguard consultation paper is 5pm Monday, 22 June 2020.
